Wild Nectar Orange Blossom Honey has taken out the Champion Honey prize of all commercial submissions at the Sydney Royal Easter show.
Wild Nectar has been awarded the Phillip Carter Memorial Trophy for Champion Commercial Honey Exhibit as well as the NSW Award of Excellence and a Gold Medal. The Wild Nectar team are over the moon!
The Royal Easter Show’s 14 judges selected our Orange Blossom Honey from 500 submissions in a blind tasting, which is testament to the passion and sheer hard work of our dedicated apiarists and Master Apiarist, Georgian Vasilescu.
Our Orange Blossom honey is made in the orchards of the Riverina region in southwest NSW, where the bees feast on orange blossoms in the springtime each year. This gives the honey a fresh, fragrant, and irresistible citrus flavour.
The judges gave this winning honey 25/25 for flavour, 23/25 for density, 25/25 for colour, 10/10 for aroma, 10/10 for clearness, and 4/5 for brightness with a total of 97.
In addition to this Championship win, Wild Nectar Organic Honey won the Silver Medal in the same category with scores of 25/25 for flavour, 22/25 for density, 25/25 for colour, 8/10 for aroma, 8/10 for clearness, and 3/5 for brightness for a total of 91.
Wild Nectar Organic honey makes up over 50% of Wild Nectar’s honey production, and is made exclusively in remote National Parks on the South Coast of NSW, Central NSW and vast tracts of untouched bushland miles from any cultivated area.
